I broke my GAMMA!
Apparently, if you turn auto backlight ON on the X70, it DISABLES any gamma adjustments except gamma profiles. Live and learn..........ABL is now OFF.

Re: I broke my GAMMA!
Good to know!
A quick question on a separate camera, Paul? I was looking at the JVC GY-HM650U and I remembered you saying the colour reproduction was good, but there was some reason you didn't like and weren't using it, could you let me know what that was? |

Re: I broke my GAMMA!
650 has completely useless OIS, it comes in somewhere between what off and STD would be on the X70. The LCD and EVF are horrible, one is green/yellow tinted, the other has pitch black greys. Autofocus is faster than the X70, but about as useless as night as the X70. Instead of blurring to macro, you get constant hunting/breathing. The LCD thing for me is the worst part of the camera. It's like driving a nice car that has primer tan paint all over it, just off-putting.

Re: I broke my GAMMA!
Thanks Paul, I was looking at the 650 or the Panasonic 270, which I hope to Eval next week. Big price difference, so I'll see whether that can be justified as we shoot mostly indoor live events.
