Clip transfer from X70 to a smartphone
Hi everyone,
Considering the X70 as a news cam replacing/adding to my heavy HPX-502 ENG cam kit. Just curious to see if anyone is successfully using the feature where you can transfer video clips to a smartphone using the WiFi connection in the X70. Thanks in advance, DC |

I don't think that feature's there yet. The details page mentions it as part of the firmware upgrade expected March-ish:
https://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/micro-...roduct-PXWX70/ Right now you can monitor (low-res viewfinder on the phone), and control recording and zoom. |

Ahh, ok thank you.
I wonder if the transfers will be full-res versions or proxy versions. DC |

This is probably dependent on the codec. I am doubtful that most phones will have the horsepower to decode XAVC in realtime, but probably will be fine with AVCHD.

I would be happy with AVCHD - it would be for ENG purposes only.

I am not disputing your general statement, but my Samsung Galaxy S5 plays smoothly on its Full HD OLED screen XAVC S 100Mbps 4K videos (that I make with Sony Vegas Pro 13) or XAVC S 60Mbps videos straight from my AX100.

One-touch authentication is also possible with smartphones that offer NFC connectivity. Re: Clip transfer from X70 to a smartphone
I would be tempted to buy a USB-C card reader. If it works, it would be a lot faster than Wi-Fi transfer. And phones now have more power than computers did a few years ago. Who remembers rendering all night?

Re: Clip transfer from X70 to a smartphone
Phones are so much more powerful yup. The issue I'm having us trying to see if I can change or have any setting that allows . Mp4
Like does the proxy do it for the z90. I want to confirm that the x70 does .MP4 proxy. Maybe the z90 can do it like how the x70 does I just wish someone can confirm. BTW, do you have any footage of. Mxf of various sizes and codec I can get I just want to mess with encoding time and such. It definitely can work if the files are . Mp4, The reader is so much faster. The only issue I have is, if is not then I'll want to convert and I have such program on my phone I just need to test. So if anyone has sample footage,I would like |
