X70 vs AX-100 stabilization

I have the AX-100 and the image stabilization is not that great. Does anyone have some comparative experiences with both AX-100 and X70 regarding the image stabilization? Is the X70 better, same in this area? I have not found any reviews that talk about IS, nor any discussion on this in DVINFO.

Thanks!

Re: X70 vs AX-100 stabilization

Isn't it true that on the AX100 it uses the "best" stabilization in 1080 (Active Mode, or something), but uses a "less stabilized" mode in 4K? Since they are very similar cameras in many respects, and just speculating, I'd predict the X70 stabilization would be the same as the AX100 in 1080p, or the same as the CX900.

But I'm just thinking out loud - no proof.

Paul Anderegg has both the CX900 and the X70 - maybe he will chime in here.

Re: X70 vs AX-100 stabilization

I do not use 4k. I just use the 1080 60p and that stabilization is not as good as some older consumer camera's like the CX 550.

I want/need to upgrade to the xlr connections, but only if there is an improvement to IS.

Re: X70 vs AX-100 stabilization

I don't know if this is better or not, but this looks pretty good to me, and is supposedly all handheld with Active Steadyshot on an X70.

On another matter, I find the shots in this video that use the Clear Image zoom feature to be surprisingly decent, both in sharpness and steadiness. It's definitely good enough for family/tourist things, which is the only setting I'd use it in anyway.

Re: X70 vs AX-100 stabilization

It's basically the same camera, beside some features and codecs so I would expect the stabilisation to be the same, I think the stabilisation is "ok", not great (on the ax100) but good enough to shoot handheld, it's however nowhere near the stabilisation of my cx730 which is a class apart.
