What is th actual Res of the Silicon?

i.e. we know the Z1 at CF25 projects real res at something like 540 lines, the panansonic roughly the same 600+ and the canon 800+ at 60i 540 at 24F, so what is the actual res of the chips and image of the Silicon?

There are the 1920x1080 HD modes that are commonly used . . . since we haven't shot a resolution chart I can't give you a hard lp/mm number but suffice to say it should be similiar to what you had on other HD cameras.

"We'll be 2K, that is 2048x1152 for our "full-resolution" mode "

so the Q3 SI camera will include 2k , HD & 720p ?

Right now we're 1920x1080, not 2K.

Good, I was hoping I was correct. After thumbing through the boards, I was confident enough that It would be 2k also. That's a good thing as I have been telling clients and a few people this. 2k should be featured on the website as I can't see it anywhere! Will 2k be via CineForm RAW also?

We haven't mentioned 2K on the website since it's not "official" . . . specs may be subject to change, but right now we're 1920x1080 HD.

Nice editing..hehehe. Well IF and WHEN you do decide to be officially 2K, you're onto something very special.

Yasser, just to check, where did you get this number 540 at 24F for Canon? In 30F and PAL 25F mode most people have reported the rez of XL H1 to be around 800 (and that's what discovered myself as well). Is there really such a difference between 30F/25F and 24F?

dv.com, adams comparison of the four HD prosumer cams. Isn't it 30f/24F and just 25F. the pal model doesn't have 30F does it?

You should probably ask about resolution *and* aliasing. If you prefer little aliasing, a low pass filter will reduce both aliasing and also resolution. Adam Wilt's DV.com article explains this.
