SI-2K CMOS Size
I post in the silicon imaging forums last week and no one answer me.
I read in a Fletcher comparison chart that the SI-2K sensor is 10.3 X 5.76 mm. Is this accurate?, s16mm is 10.6 X 6 mm, so the difference would be really small 0.033%.

Hi
the sensor has pixels size of 5 microns. So full 2K is (2048x1152)=10.24x5.76mm 1080 (1920x1080)=9.6x5.4mm 720 (1280x720)=6.4x3.6mm Hope this helps, have not had time lately to check SI forum. -Kaspar |

I was under the impression that Super 16 frame size was 12.52mm x 7.41mm (std 16 10.26 x 7.49)
There does seem to be a different field of view from S16 to SI-2K |

Hi
You are correct about S16 (16 mm film - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) I use multiplier of 1.2(2) -Kaspar |

Hi Kaspar & Rohan,
By a mistake in my notes I use the frame size of standard 16mm instead of s16 mm, but you are also wrong because Wikipedia dimensions doesn't use the standard ISO 5768:1998 As you can see Panavision or Zeiss does: Information: Formats http://www.zeiss.com/C12567A8003B8B6F/EmbedTitelIntern/ARRIUltra16Brochure/$File/ARRI_Ultra16_brochure.pdf Kaspar, Where do you find the info about the pixel size in SI-2K CMOS sensor?

Kaspar is exactly correct in the sensor pixel size and the effective sensor size at various resolutions. It should be in our specs and is in the FAQ. One of the problems in saying that a sensor is exactly a film size is the variation in aspect ratio involved.
