Has anyone tried the EVF on the SI-2K? How is it?

Hi Bhaskar,
The EVF is pretty nice, and we've gotten some very positive reviews when we showed it at IBC. It uses the same all-glass/machined aluminum, and fully calibrated diopter as the Arri BL Evolution eye-piece from P+S Technik. So it's pretty nicely built. If focusing is a big issue, you also might be very happy to hear about a new feature we've implemented in the spot meter, which is a focus indexing feature. Basically it gives you a sharpness index on whatever is inside the spot meter/loupe, so you can simply "dial-in" to the sharpest image by looking at the index. As you roll the focus, the index will increase, then decrease . . . simply dialing the index in at the highest number gives you the sharpest image for whatever is isolated under the loupe. It removes the guess-work required for trying to "eyeball" the focus on the monitor. |
