Routine Breaks, my first film

I finally managed to get a version of my final film onto the internet.
Its just over 13mins and 24mb so im not sure if it will work on slower conections.
There isnt any dialogue and its not exactly the simplest plot.
Anyway, im really interested in what people think of it.

You can view it on my myspace page www.myspace.com/rjgfilm if that doesnt work try the direct link below.

I hope you enjoy.

ps ive not had a chance to watch it through online yet, so I hope the quality is ok. Its also a dark film so you might need the lights out.

a short synopsis is..

"its about a guy that works in a really boring job and has all his creatvity sucked out. When he goes home he uses drugs to escape into a dream world where he obsesses about this one girl."

i guess 13mins is a little too long for people to look at. Would really love some feedback though.
Updated link though, higher quality

I got confused about who the woman in the red coat is supposed to be. I can't be more descriptive without ruining it for someone else.

There is something in your synopsis that is not shown in the movie. Again, I don't want to start a discussion about it so I don't start other people off on the wrong foot looking for something that I am confused about.

I still don't understand who she represents. Girlfriend, kind stranger in passing, sister? I think maybe the lack of dialog makes it harder to understand who she is since they only appear together for a couple of seconds on the video. They aren't actually shown on screen simultaneously, so it doesn't set up a romantic relationship between them. If we could hear her words as she recorded him with the camera, their relationship might be more clear.

I was also thrown off the trail by the sounds of the seagulls at the end. It starts off sounding like the ocean, as intended, then starts to seem like "attack of the killer seagulls". For a second, I honestly thought it was intended to indicate that he was remembering her body being scavenged by seagulls and that was why he was so despondent. Since there is no dialog, everything is done with subtle clues and the seagull sounds became too strong.

The girl is his girlfriend, he is obsessed by the loss of her, most likely she left because of his excalating drug habit.
His life is built around the routine of work, coming home and escaping into his drug induced dream world, in which he tries to recapture his lost love. Although in his dreams she is far from obtainable. This is shown by the unpassable borders such as the river between them.
Throughout the film the drug taking becomes more intense and finally in the third day he spills out and gets fired from his job.
This alters his whole day sending him out of control. By leaving his work during the day he doesnt pass the girl on the stairs, confused the man takes more and more drugs in an attempt to find the girl.

I couldn't tell if the woman on the stairs was supposed to be real or fantasized. At the end of it all, I figured that the red coat leading him to the roof was representation of her suicide giving him the idea to kill himself. I just figured that every instance of the woman was part of his hallucination. As they passed on the stairs, she did not seem like was familiar with him, so I figured it might be intended to signify that he was cold to her unless he was taking drugs and that only his high brought his emotions forth. Was she supposed to be a real/live person on the stairway?

she is not real, by that I mean she is not actually on the stairs.
she is the manfestation of his drugs encroaching into his reality.
