New Apple Ad Series - 'The Other Side'

Howdy...

I think lots of folks think the Apple ads are a 'touch' unbalanced (they are from Apple, after all)...

This new series aims to square things up...

Shot with Z1, Composited with Ultra, Edited with Vegas...

Best,

Benjamin

Thanks Benjamin, its nice to have a chuckle in the middle of the day.

Although I think the "PC" should have been more hip looking to go with "Media Center" since suits are very buisness'e.

Good Job :)

It was well put together, but the argument is hollow...there are PVR options out there for the mac. The apple ads also have many falacies in them...like the "I have a calculator" ad, but the drivers and the virii and the interoperability commercials are spot on.

Guys, let's be careful here. DVINFO maintains a strict policy against platform bashing, be it computers, cameras, microphones, or anything else.

Many times innocent stuff like this goes downhill pretty fast. I watched the ad and have to admit, as a spoof, it was well executed although the included information wasn't totally accurate.

regards,

I promise to fail to respond to any mac vs. pc debates here :) I use both and both have their strength and weaknesses...there is value in both platforms...I just don't like FUD from either side of the fence.

I'm right there with you, Cole. I have both platforms in my house and use both of them. And like yourself, I don't like the mis-information that gets tossed back and forth between camps.

I really don't even like comparison ads. I prefer someone show me what 'they' have to offer me, and let me do my own comparisons.

So, the WWDC is here, and still no built-in TV tuner for a Mac.

I've received a lot of negative comments on my ad saying 'You can record TV on a Mac, just buy an external TV tuner'

Yes, but the point is that on most MCE PCs, the tuner is built-in and comes with it.

Just like on the Apple ads that boast about iLife and iMovie and such. We can get those things on the PC, but you have to buy them, whereas they come with the Mac. The same point is being made here regarding the TV Tuner..

Best,

Benjamin a

I would think the tuner is part of the point of buying a media center PC in the first place...it's still an add-on, it's just that the factory does it for you as a package deal...like the eddie bauer SUV package. Just a name describing a certain package deal on the unit.

I did like the characterization of the mac guy in your ad...he does annoy me in the apple ads.

Good parody of the Apple ad. It was shot well and was fun and entertaining.

I have both systems in my house (prefer the Mac), but I thought the ad was pretty well done (points of information aside). For the record, I don't buy a platform so I can record live TV anyways, that's what my Tivo is for. d:-)
