Magic Wand
Hey all, I don't know if any one on here entered the AtomFilms Intel Indies Magic Wand film contest, but I did. I just thought I'd post a temporary link to it to get some feedback and see what anyone thought. The theme of the contest was "Magic Wand: How would you use it and what would you change?"
http://www.rch-e.com/temp/wand.mpg This is a temporary link, so it won't be up for long. Thanks for watching! |

if i had a magic wand, i'd wave it over riley so that instead of BAAH-ing your audience for the lack of feedback, you'd be happy that 31 people have already viewed your work and possibly benefited from viewing such your lovely little film...a tiny shift in perspective, much like turning a needle into a flower....
i thought your film was very sweet and meticulously told, except for that rifleman's flapping shirtsleeve. tell us the technical backstory. i'm always interested..... |

Very nicely done Riley. I teach video to kids and this is a great example of how artistry can influence the world. Do you mind if I download it and use it as an example? How did you do in the contest. I don't know this competition. Can you post a link for more info please?

Very clever, fun, well thought out and executed. A prime example of how creativity and planning can overcome the limitations of format and budget. Well done fellow OKIE!

1, Try out of focus some of the close up shots
2, I think it would have been nice if you had added some effects sound for the Magic Wand smoke. 3, It would have also been nice to make the leaves blow across the guy's face in some mega slow mo. Riley, That was lovely. Absolutely lovely. I thought I was watching a Kelly Clarkston's music video for a sec. I really think you should use this idea on someone's music video. That will be awesome. Oh, did everyone just stand astill or did you use an effect for that? |

Magic
Ok Riley, I've been a magician for 30 years then I got married and placed all my magic away. When I had the opportunity to display the "Magic" I always liked the reaction to what was happening. A place of possibilities and miracles. Up to this point I have had a hard time capturing the same effect on tape/video. But your magic wand video has changed my perspective on what is now possible again.
Just a couple of questions. 1. How long did you plan you movements for your transitions? 2. where is the music from? Again a very nice video. |

Just did the movements the same, once with negative object, and then again with pos object. Required to use the music they provided.
