Horrors of War WEB DOC online!
http://www.horrorsofwarmovie.com/scene6.php
This is the first of a series of WEB DOCUMENTARIES on the making of Horrors of War, my first feature film, co-directed by John Whitney, and produced by Phil Garrett and Sean Reid. SCENE 6 was a something that went from a 1 line description to 2 pages with dialogue, shot during post production and I thought people might dig seeing how this process worked. I hope you like it. Expect to see many more in the coming months as we put more BEHIND THE SCENES and MOVIEMAKING TIPS videos on the site - Ross http://www.horrorsofwarmovie.com __________________ S O N N Y B O O "Don't Go To The Movies, Go Back Online!" wWw.sOnNybOo.cOm |

Johns First Day
H O R R O R S O F W A R
Web Documentary - "John's First Day" http://www.horrorsofwarmovie.com/john.php John Whitney tells the story on what his first day directing on Horrors of War was like. Managing a tank, a jeep, extras, costumed actors and two pages of dialogue in a single shot. This is a series of WEB DOCS on the making of Horrors of War, a WWII action-horror-sci fi story coming soon. These documentaries are DVD-style tidbits showing the behind the scenes workings of a low budget indie film. - Ross http://www.sonnyboo.com http://www.horrorsofwarmovie.com |

JoBlo.comSays some really great things about Horrors of War! "Think SAVING PRIVATE RYAN meets RE-ANIMATOR meets DOG SOLDIERS, i.e.- a buttload of fun and good times! How cool is that? And after checking out the trailer, I'm sold- this one is gonna blow the other DVD completely away!" How's THAT for a kick arse quote? |

Thanks! The web docs are shot on DVX100A and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 along with some obvious After Effects work in the title and animated lower 3rds.
The film itself is primarily super 16, with some 35mm and even some flashbacks done on super 8mm film, edited in Avid Xpress Pro |

Peter,
I actually watched the interview on I think MSNBC or one cable network news channel + I also watched the thriller you guys had up there where they started shooting at the German soldier and he wouldn't go down, based on that thriller. I was so captivated to just know what will happen and what have happened. Looking at the making of the scene, I wouldn't say, that was really a low budget film except if the smart thing you guys did was to hire people that already have all the equipments that are needed, e.g take the studio you used for the ADR, the tank and the Jeep, if you have to rent all these stuffs men, you guys will definitely be throwing down some greens, and not to talk of the special effects (CGI) too. But anyways, I really think you guys should push for the theaters because the thriller was hot that I had to watch it 5 times.!!!!!!!!!. |

WHOA! Thank you! The studio where we did ADR is where I do freelance work. Cost me very little. The point of the ADR web doc is that people with a microphoen & a 13" TV/VCR can achieve the same thing with re-recording of dialogue.

Nice, I look forward to the future "how to" videos that will be on the site.
The actors in this movie do not seem like B actors, they do a good job. In the trailor anyways. You guys going to be selling this on dvd as well? Anyone else know of any dvd like this that teaches these types of important techniques besides the broken dvd? |
