Re: Aerial in Maui 2016
Are the drone shots also yours? awesome view from those wales, is there a reason why only 720P? I also see quite a lot of aliasing which isn't normal for a gh4. Otherwise some very nice shots in there, almost makes me jump on a plane and get over there but just checked and google maps tells me it's a 20 hour flight to get there :)

Re: Aerial in Maui 2016
Thanks for the feedback!
I complain all the time on this forum about not getting feedback and when I get it I didn't acknowledge it. Very weak on my part. All the shots in this video are ours. Interestingly, the video is a byproduct of the research. We were shooting stills for photogrammetry to determine the length of the calves. We just shot the video because we could but the researcher wasn't interested in it at all. I'm embarrassed to admit this, it was shot in 4K, edited in 1080P but its encoded in 720P because that's all I know how to do in Compressor. A long time ago I tweaked a 720P preset to my liking and I've never figured out how to get a good 1080P H264 from Compressor. It looks great in 1080, I'm sure the aliasing is from the 720P encoding. Tim, I hope you had a great time in Maui. Of coarse I'm not sure I can believe you went if you don't post the video.. JK. Thanks Rudy. I keep watering my GH4, hoping it will grow into one of those really nice camera's that you use. Just kidding of coarse, I know its not the camera that makes a good video. |

Nicely done. Looks like you are getting the most out of your GH4.

Re: Aerial in Maui 2016
Hey Chuck
I have just bought a Nikon D3x and will probably shoot a lot more stills than video. I have only an eight year old Canon HF200 so it won't be up to your standard. I generally shoot 1080p25, edit 1080p25 and output 540p because its only a MacBook Air after all. But I will make sure I shoot some video on Maui. Cheers Tim

Re: Aerial in Maui 2016
We head over by boat in late September / early October, but will only be in Hawaii a total of two days. We are cruising back to Australia.
