A few shorts to check out
I am a student filmmaker in Ohio and I have a few shorts up. If you'd like to watch them, I'd love some feedback.
The first is a two minute experimental thing: http://www.whitehousememos.com/filmclockingout.html The next is a documentary (pretty political.. I'd like feedback on the film, not the politics) http://www.whitehousememos.com/filmprotest.html and the last is a silly little video I did for my friend's company. http://www.whitehousememos.com/toddg...oveslittleboys Thanks for watching! |

I liked the politics one.. quite funny. The camera is a bit too shaky but maybe you meant it that way.
The b&w one is good but could have been a bit more artistic in the way you presented it. At least your b&w photography looks better than 'apply black & white filter' sort of thing. The last one is funny too, shame you placed the black boxes on the girl!! ;)

thanks dave
the feedback is appreciated. I keep trying to find time to put more of my work online, but I never find it. Anyway, thanks for watching a little random sampling. If you have any work up, I'd be interested!

Hi Corey,
Haven't had the chance to check out your first three shorts yet; but I just saw the Stalk Photos one and very much enjoyed it! The cinematography was great, and it had a very compelling storyline. I wasn't quite sure what happened with the girl at the end -- she appeared a bit too suddenly for me, and I felt there wasn't enough establishment of who she was. It still adds to the mystery of who she is, though; and I was wondering if you made that choice from the start. Anyway, I commend both you and Mark on a job well done -- this should be one of your key portfolio pieces. |

I watched all three and was very impressed. I enjoyed each and every shot.(seems like many films I watch from here seem full of uninteresting, un-needed, or poorly composed shots) Sound quality was good for the most part. And, of course, the actual content and ideas being portrayed were interesting as well. You're very talented, keep up the good work.

Joeseph and Mathew:
Thank you so much for your kind words. If you have work online, narrative or otherwise, I'd love to check it out! Joeseph, watch Stalk Photos again and notice the dream sequence and some of the close up shots of the photographs... I think you'll be surprised how many times the girl shows up before she physically shows up. Take care guys, and thanks again! |

Hey Corey,
Watched Stalk Photos and thought it looked nice. I liked the edit and the shots. You seemed to definately have been thinking about the edit while shooting. My only thing would be trimming the story down further to pick up the pacing and if you wanted to, doesnt need it, add a little music at the end beyond the piano to set the mood you want. Recognized all your locations :) Are you a student at OSU or CCAD? |

Hey Jeremy. I'll be a CCAD grad in about three weeks. Can't wait. It's always fun to see places you know in films, even if they may be student shorts! Peace.
