Could you explain what the promo was for, and what the brief was for the project? I wasn't quite sure what to be looking out for.

I think if you cut your promo down to 15-30 seconds with much faster cuts/pacing, it would have better impact. Right now it drags and we can't tell what the promo is about until the very end. At first I thought it was about running shoes.

Re: Small Promo Video: 100K run!
Alejandro, I agree with Warren, plus the slowing pace of the running towards the end of the piece suggests the products don't actually work very well. Needs much more convincing product display, tighter framing on the talent and product display and sound that is recorded for the piece, not cut up from a single sentence.
Additionally, unless this is low budget because it's an idea only, there's no benefit in putting out any promo piece that's not the full shilling. Making a piece with low budget and apologising for it does nothing for the product except say that it too is low budget. Remember the cost of individual chocolate bars is cents but the adverts cost thousands to make and even more to broadcast. The value of the ad is that it is believed to affect the sales of millions of the bars. |

Re: Small Promo Video: 100K run!
you guys are 100% right.
only problem is, the person who wants this video has few things in mind: 1. it cannot look like a commercial 2. it needs to convey the idea of the product SLIGHTLY 3. it cannot be like a commercial 4.it should look more like a recap of the day 5. it cannot look like a commercial. lol.. yes, he is that anal about that part. all i've done is the editing...he did the rough cut and has bugged me ever since because the logo shows on the shoes. i'm to the point of dropping this...it is so annoying...besides, he never has time to work on it so i am always editing on the blind, rendering and then he doens't like it! arrrgh |
