Bazi Energy Drink Commercial all 7D
Hey Everyone,
This was my first real shoot as a DP for a company called Bazi. They offer a healthy alternative for energy drinks. We had 4 days to shoot the entire film in Portland Oregon. The 7D was amazing and exactly what made this commercial possible. The best part is we filmed everything on 2 lenses. The Sigma 30mm 1.4 and Canon 15 2.8. No follow focus or mattebox. Just a Bogen tripod with a homemade IGUS slider, Glidecam 2000 and some Fader ND's. Please if you have the time take a look. It is broken into 5 parts with each actor telling his & her own unique story. I would love to hear some critque on how I could improve my camera style and movement. I only watched the first video link. The movement and lighting seemed pretty good, good use of dolly and fluid movements all around. I would have liked to have seen at least one rack focus since this is 35mm - perhaps when the guy first walked into the room and you hold the shot to show the other people in the background.
I noticed a lot of soft focus going on, or out of focus shots. DSLR makes it hard with some lenses to mark the lens barrel and repeat sharp focus. Lastly I think the post was over-done. This is suppose to be like an alchohol anonymous club not a sequel to the matrix. So I'm not sure why you chose such a high contrast monochromatic look, but if that's the look you wanted then you managed to pull it off. Good concept, I like that you can click people to jump to their specific story. |
