SONY NEX-VG10 PAL test footage
Just got the camera yesterday for short films and pretty B roll at events. I've done my best to shoot a wide selection of shots to test out what the camera is capable of. Would be really interested to see how people feel it measures up the true video capable DSLR's.

Hey Henry,
As a recent ex-Brockley dude - is there any possibility you have a short avchd file at 24mbs from the VG10 I could test? something with hard edges - busy kinda thing - I wanted to look at the aliasing issues if any, compared to D5 and D7 - can be super short - like 5 secs... thanks if you can help - was in London yesterday looking at a VG10 - Paul

I'd be happy to help. I'll make sure theres lots going on in the frame but what kind of thing exactly are you after - straight shot or focus pull, handheld or tripod, kit lens or 16mm, with or without motion stabilisation, day or night?
I can dig something out and sendspace you the file over the weekend. Henry |

Thanks Henry
If you have a tripod clip, maybe with a slow pan wide shot, daylight is fine, busy with fences, or edgy brickwork, I'm looking for something that creates the worst aliasing possible, detailed and sharp, less "bokeh" oh er, standard lens too. I'll leave it up to you, I'd just love to play with something on my edit system before I press the buy now button!! Paul

I'll get something that fits the bill tmrw. For the record the only problems with antialiasing and moire I've found have been when I've forgotten to remind my NLE that the footage isn't interlaced- although footage imports as progressive it will try and de-interlace unless you go into the sequence settings and tell it not to.
I'm relatively new to these forums. Is there a facility for you to PM me an email address I can sendspace the clip to? If not go to my website (under my personal info) and theres an email address you can message me on there. Henry |
