[REPRODUCTION] Award Winning Student Film
Hey guys!
Last August I finished making one of my first shorts ever and it has done pretty well for me. Made as a student project, REPRODUCTION was intended to be a culmination of my journey through academia but turned out to be so much more. Anyway, I'll let the synopsis do the talking: The New Republic of Alberta flourishes after separating from Canada during the recession in 2010 but things take a dark turn when the government begins reintroducing eugenics policies from Albertaʼs past. Nelly (Gina Phillips) is a widow who lost her daughter in a tragic car accident, and has to resort to illegal means to circumvent D-FARRʼs screening process because of her rare genetic disorder. Garret (Mark Robson) is a crooked D-FARR employee that accepts bribes to pass applicants through a parent licensing test that he doesnʼt believe in. And here's the film. Enjoy, and let me know what you think! Reproduction Last edited by Alex Mitchell; September 1st, 2010 at 06:29 PM. Reason: New URL |

Alex,
Very well done, very provocative material and well acted IMO. A glide cam would have been nice for the walking shots but I suspect the budget wouldn't stretch to that! I liked it. Al |
