Movie Trailer for "Fate Awakening"
Hey Gang,
Just finished up a trailer for a short film I'm shooting, and I couldn't think of a better place to post it to get some quality feedback! As far as I am concerned this is a final product, so anything you see that you might have an issue with is probably something I missed or otherwise ignored, and I would love to here any and all constructive feedback! FYI: All this was shot with a Canon H1 at 24f, and the Redrock M2 with Nikon Lenses. Here's the link: http://www.vimeo.com/810876 Look forward to the responses! |

Not bad! Not bad at all...
At some place, the editing needed more speed, sometimes it looked like you wanted to show too much of the film. The soundeffects and music in the trailer are quite good (so is the artwork), but the recorded dialogue is not that great. Most of the time, it isn't loud enough, or it's just weird. A lot of lines were very important, I think, so ADR (maybe just for the trailer) would have been great. Overall: very interesting. |

Looks good! Can't wait to see it! I think you did a great job pulling the viewer in from moment 1. The opening dialogue (by the drunkard) is possibly my favorite. He's good.

Music seems to drown out the audio in some parts, but other than that, looks like a good movie!

Thanks for the comments, guys!
Good comments on the audio. I can pull those up pretty easily. There is a moment when he's talking with his buddy at the bar where the audio quality is terrible, so that will probably have to be ADRed if we keep it. (Might not even use that in the final cut.) The drunkard, (A.S.A. "The Bum"), did do a fantastic job! He's name's Steve Briscoe, and he's pretty well known in greater Phoenix area for his acting ability, and a fantastic guy to work with! Appreciate all the feedback! |

Timothy,
I liked lot of creative things you've done, trailer starts off great, one thing I've noticed, inconsistency with gamma, CC in shots that follow, girls clowns for example, it could be a statement of alternative reality, just like the guy saying good to see you, pink hands also throws off, IMHO. |

Nice!
This is my kind of movie :-)
I agree with the above about the audio issues, but it still drew me in, nonetheless. All it made me do was turn up my speakers! Heheh. What's the ETA on this project? Very interesting. |

We still have some principle photography to shoot, and we're hoping to get that wrapped by the end of Summer (hopefully June). Then there's a healthy amount of VFX that have to be completed, and then we're home free!
So, still a ways to go. I appreciate the interest, and I'll be sure to keep you posted! |
