Photo of My New Mini-Camcorder Mount

I've just developed this little steadying-mount, that can be held with one hand or two and pressed against the belly, chest or shoulder. It can be taken apart and the whole rig, including my camcorder, can be carried in my coat pockets. It's very simple, just a few pieces of wood, some bolts, washers, wingnuts and a foam pad. It works better than my larger shoulder-mounts, which you can see by searching my name on this forum and DV Info as a whole.

I think most people could easily make something like this and you can see everything about it in the picture.

The camcorder is my new Webbie HD and I will also use it with my larger Sony HC9 and a Canon S5 digital camera. The telextender is a Raynox HD-2200, with my own fiberglass butterfly hood, attached to a short hood from a Canon A-1 Digital camcorder from 1990. Under the lens is an external powerpack, that uses a Sony NP-F960, that I carry in a small bag in a pocket or shoulder-bag. It has 5 times as much capacity as the internal and non-removable 500 mAh battery of this camcorder.

Reminds me of contraptions I make all the time. I'll have to post one I just engineered for my Canon 5D2 in the 5D forum...

Another Photo Showing a Sony HC9 on the Mount

I changed and added a few things to the rig, including a Kevlar extender-arm for a Sony ECM-MS907 stereo mike and use it with a Sony HC9 HDV camcorder. I can hold it against my belly or chest and use the viewscreen or high on my shoulder and use the small viewfinder.
