varizoom vs. zr-2000/1000
hi everyone, i'm trying to decide which zoom/focus controller to get for the H1, anyone have any experience with the new canon ZR-2000, it looks pretty trick but is pretty steeply priced, there's also a ZR-1000 which is pretty low priced (less than half) but missing some of the key features that make the 2000 so appealing. the other option i am thinking is the VariRock controller, and good/bad stories about this?
thanks -Jon

Just found this unanswered post. The VariZoom VZ Rock is a great controller. However the Canon ZR-2000 has the focus assist buttons (peaking and magnifying) that the Rock doesn't have. I guess it's a question of which feature sets you need. The Canon controller certainly has more features, buit in my opinion the VariZoom controller is better built and more intuitive to use. One thing that's important: the VariZoom will fit on just about any tripod pan handle. The Canon controller needs a much smaller diameter pan handle.
