FS: Sony DVCAM DSR PDX10
Hi there,
I am selling my Sony prosumer DVCAM, the DSR PDX10. It is in excellent condition and has served me well. MSRP: $2400 It comes with the, Box/Packing, Manual, Wireless Remote, Power Supply, Shoulder Strap, Battery, Lens Cover, Lens Hood, USB Cable, A/V Cable, Power Cable, 8MB Memory Stick Card, Lens Cleaning Cloth, ShotGun Microphone, Microphone XLR Adapter, Sony .73 wide angle lens, extra QM91D battery (super long lasting), additional UV lenses, ND filters, and polarizer. The Sony DSR PDX10 has 3 CCD “True Widescreen” 16:9 native chips which records & displays 20% more resolution than standard 4:3 recording mode (and it can shoot in 4:3 as well. Comparible cameras without:16:9 chips, such as the pd150, would need an anamorphic adaptor lens to capture true widescreen like the PDX10, but this lens has its limitations in certain camera shots. I've used this camera to shoot short films that have screened at festivals and instruction videos because it also has one of the highest DVCAM resolutions in a small format camera. It uses 14-bit analog to digital converter eliminating rounding off errors seen in lesser bit rate processors and records in the professional DVCAM format that utilizes 8-bit component 4:1:1 color sampling, 5:1 intra-frame compression at 25 mega-bits per second. Will also record and playback in the universal DV format. Maximum recording time is 40 minutes in DVCAM and 60 minutes in DV. It has high quality 3.5 inch active matrix LCD screen. This size LCD is a “major difference to smaller screens and takes a lot of strain off of the shooter from using the eyepiece for long and idle periods. The screen is also touch-sensitive for certain menu options and has spot focus, meaning it will focus on whatever object you point to on the screen. They say, “Sound is half the picture”. The PDX10 has Professional Balanced XLR Audio Connectors which you can plug in 2 professional microphones into the XLR box. The DSR-PDX10 accepts 2 professional microphones with its XLR adapter box. This unit gives line-level and mic-level switchability as well as phantom power. I really like shooting with this camera. I like the more compact design of the PDX10 than the elongated shape of its cousin, the Sony DSR PD150. But the PDX10 has the same solid construction as the pd150 and the same weight and mass for performing steady handheld shots. PDX10’s overall layout is as intuitive as the pd150. I found it easy to nail action shots with the well-located zoom toggle and the 3.5” LCD screen. The PDX10 is loaded with professional features-too much to list. Pictures of the camera can be seen here on ebay. Asking price on ebay seem to average around $1400 so I'll sell for $1300 shipped. If you are interested, please email me, audio90@shaw.caNOSPAM |

Someone make an offer... any offer. I would rather not try and sell this on ebay if I can avoid it.

Hi, what do mean "has one of the highest DVCAM resolutions" ? Do you mean horizontal luminance resolution? Might want to explain for newer buyers.

It has the highest pixel dimension resolution for DVCAM, which is why it was a 'darling' and craved out a niche following when it came out, compared to it's older brothers, such as the PD150/170 series. It actually have more pixels length and width and shoots native 16:9 with the full chip, not a crop job that most other DVCAM cameras do.
