xh-A1
I have a Sony PD-170 that I'm trying to get rid off to get an A1. It is much like the Vx2100 but is a little more high end with XLR inputs. I have 2 extra batteries, and a wide angle lense. Works perfectly. I used this camera and a VX2100 as my back up camera. The footage matches up excellent with each other.
Will trade the PD-170 plus cash for your camera. |

If your not interested in the trade, how much are you asking for the camera?

XH-A1 price
I know the PD170 with its XLR inputs is nicer than my VX with a Beach, but I've got my heart set on HD that is as easy to use as the VX, so I'm hoping I won't be disappointed with Sony's FX1000.
Anyway, BH has a new XH-A1 for $2999 and free shipping. I have the original box, contents, BH invoice along with an extra BP0970g ($149) battery and a tutorial DVD from VASST ($70). I also have a J-Rod twin mount ($70), which is great for mounting two microphones on the camera. I would sell the above delivered inside the continental US with insurance for $2800. Subtract $150 if you don't want the extra battery. Subtract $70 if you don't want the J-Rod. The J-Rod by the way, is very useful with the XH-A1s microphone ring.

Yeah, I don't know if I can justify spending that much on a used camera. If you can go lower than that I'd be interested. There are other A1's with low hours and more accessories for less money.

It might be worth the extra $$ to go through a more trusted forum than Ebay. I'll buy little things off Ebay, but when we start talking about $2K+, then it's worth a little more to buy from people here. That's my humble opinion.

If you back out the battery and the j-rod and the shipping/insurance, I'd be at $2,480. $180 more than ebay. That's almost enough savings to pay for new heads- almost, but not quite. I think its $500 from the Canon service center.

As an added incentive to DVInfoers, I'll include with each cam 2 NP-F970 long life batteries as well as a 7" LCD external monitor kit that includes all the connectors, battery packs and AC adapters you need to run them.

Quit The Price Policing
If you feel that you can find a better deal elsewhere then get it.
Bottom line....Scott has set his prices, which he feels are fair. If you don't agree then it's pretty simple.....don't buy. |

I'm pretty sure it can be used as a deck for both the A1 and H1 because it will playback the 24f fine even though the HV20 records a different 24p. I actually bought this camera with the intent of getting the A1 later on so I could use the HV20 as the A1's deck and b camera, but I never ended up getting the A1 because I have access to an HVX200.
Thanks, Andy
