Manfrotto 522 LANC Lens Zoom Controller for Sony
Having finally converted from Sony PD150 and Z1 cameras to JVC HD200U's with Fujinon full manual lenses, I have no further need for my Manfrotto 522 Remote Zoom Controller.
This controller mounts to Manfrotto 5xx series fluid heads and allows remote control of zoom functions and start/stop capabilities. As well, on the cameras I've used it on, it also controls the focus servo. The controller has buttons to control backlight, fader and photo but these functions appear not to be supported on PD150, 170 and Z1 cameras. Perhaps on consumer cameras with LANC control they work. The controller works fantastically and adds the ability to remove your hands from the camera body, thus minimizing shake from zooming or starting and stopping. There is some minor cosmetic wear on the remote body and some scratching at the point on the handle where the rod connects to the fluid head. This in no way affects the functionality and is hidden when mounted to the head. e-mail me at shaun@gearheadvisual.com if interested. I'd be happy to e-mail photos. First $200 takes it. Paid more than $500 about 4 or 5 years ago.

Hey I'm about to buy an XH-A1 too and will now start looking to acquire accessories. I know I want to get a mic too right away, so I'd love to see what you ultimately go with. Hope you update this thread as you acquire what you are looking for.

I am very interested. I am pretty close to Baltimore. What would you say about in person pickup?
*Edit*- Are you also including a filter? |

Half way would be awesome. Just wondering about the filter. I hope its not a problem that I play ice hockey for Penn State Berks. (Satellite Campus) We have games this weekend and the following weekend I am going up to University Park for the football game vs. Temple. I really hope this wont make you turn to another person. I have been dying to get my hands on one of these cameras. Also, I am dying to jump into the all manual world. Let me know if there are any problems.

what a great deal. I would be all over it but I am getting my lens adapter in a couple weeks and that would put me over the weight limit...

My friend Jay should have mentioned that he is in the states now and shipping is not a problem.
Good to have you home Jay. |
