I'm thinking. I could use a play back deck, save the heads on my sony cameras. I don't suppose there's an issue from recording on sony heads and playback on that JVC?

it's the JVC GY-DV5100U

I wouldn't think so. I used with footage from both a Canon XL2, and a JVC HD110 with no problems.
With the HD110 it won't display 24p footage on the LCD screen, but it will feed it just fine. |

It will not do 1080i/p either. Only 720p from SOME JVC cameras and regular Mini-DV.

Thanks! I do want whoever buys this to know what they are getting, so any info is welcome. Will it not play them back at all, or just not display them on the screen?
