I couldn't use it on my tripod at all. Partly because I don't have a good tripod. I ended up getting a clamping workstand at a hardware store for $30 and using it as a base for the slider.

Would this work with a Cartoni Focus Head?

I have no experience with this head. The bottom of the slider has standard threaded holes and can be attached to a quick release plate. The top part that slides, has a 3/8" post to which a head can be attached.

FS: Power Mac G5 Dual 2.3GHz w/FCS eSATA, extras+++
I've upgraded my edit bay and now have a very nice G5 for sale. $1500 plus s/h and includes original discs (Tiger) and FCS discs and manuals.
The facts: 5.5GB RAM, 250GB HD with OSX ready to roll. In addition to the stock config (ATI Radeon 9600, Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-109) there are THREE additional drive bays making a total of FIVE SATA drive bays, a Sonnet Tempo-X eSATA 4+4 card (current bios for Leopard), additional USB card (4 more ports) additional Firewire (800 and 400), Airport extreme, and Blutetooth. Just add your own extra drives and you are ready to edit! Even inlcudes mouse and new keyboard. Photos can be seen here http://gallery.mac.com/jrgidez#100086 I think I have included everything here. Happy to answer all questions! |

FS: bogen manfrotto 505 fluid head, 3182 tripod, spreader
bogen manfrotto 505 fluid head & 3182 tripod w/ floor spreader in nice condition. original owner, well maintained -- it was sent to bogen late last year for a tune-up and is in tip-top working shape. it has some nicks and scratches from regular use.
basically a re-branded gitzo g1380, the 505 is no longer in the manfrotto catalog (supplanted by the 519 a few years back). it's a well-regarded head in the bogen manfrotto lineup, and definitely a step up from the 501s and 503s. it has a max load capacity of 17.7 lbs. you get: - 505 fluid head - camera qr plate (plate compatible with 501 and 503) - two pan/tilt handles - 3182 aluminum tripod w/ spikes and retractable rubber feet - flat base to 75mm bowl adapter - floor spreader - spring kit (5 springs & wrench) will throw in a smooth DIY tripod dolly (skate wheels) as well. $550 shipped/paypal'd. pickup available in nyc. http://www.downwiththefuture.com/pictures/505.jpg email: henry -at- downwiththefuture.com |

fs: geardear mattebox w/ extras
up for sale is a geardear "large package" mattebox in excellent condition, with extras. we just plonked down a good wad of cash on some of the new redrock accessories, including their mattebox, and i'm trying to recoup some of it. ideally i'd keep the geardear, as it's the lightest mattebox i've ever used and breaks down into slices for easy transport, but we could use the funds.
you get everything in the "large package" detailed here: http://www.geardear.com/ready4x5.html and the following extras: - french flag - side flags - aluminum backbone slice (for extra support when using the french flag) - rotating 4x5.65 filter stage (4 stages total) - additional 4x5.65 filter tray (4 trays total) - 2shade hood (2" hood, vs. the standard included 4shade 4" hood -- nice for those super wide lenses) - set of three masks (for 35mm, 50mm and 85mm field-of-views) - set of three rings/donuts (50mm, 60mm, 70mm) i paid well over $700 for everything over the past year or so. asking $350 shipped/paypal'd. http://www.downwiththefuture.com/pictures/geardear.jpg email: henry -at- downwiththefuture.com |
