There have been a number of great directors that I've had the pleasure to work with. I wish that my time with the Coen Brothers wasn't limited to one short day; Frank Darabont was amazing, very smart guy; Mike Judge was a lot of fun. There have been a number of TV directors whose names aren't "household" but were really talented and knew how to use Steadicam, we came up with some great shots. My rig is a hybrid of various manufacturers: PRO, XCS, Steadyrig, Klassen and some custom parts. It started as a PRO but I have added and switched around things over the years and I am quite satisfied with it. See pic below for a reasonably good view of it.

Thanks Charles for your input and expertise. Not only does he do great work he is one of the most stand-up guys I know, always took as much time explaining things to me as I wanted to spend.
Thanks Mike |

Oleg, it is not switchable, looks like Steadicam sold a Pal and NTSC version.

How does this compare with the Redrock m2? Would it work for a Sony V1U?
I would also be using it on a Canon XH-A1 |

Hi Larry, it works on anything that has 72mm threads (or if you have a step down or up ring it will work on others, this one is setup already for an XHA1. I believe it is rated with only a half fstop loss, I liked it better than the Red rock just from the loss and the compact size. Check out Cinevate .com
