smaller fresnels...
Hi Keith,
I have 5 (or so) small fresnel heads I'm ready to part with. These are inky or pepper sized theatrical units made by "Times Square". They use 150/200 watt bayonet bulbs the same as those lights. They are compact, but run hot, and are a little finicky to spot flood (loosen tighten knurled knob in slot which gets hot...). They are at various stages of condition/modification. The one I used for years before I got an Arri kit has a long heavy grounded cord with an inline dimmer for a switch, barndoors, stand mount and bulb. A few are as I got them, with a yoke but no stand socket, missing doors, short cable with unconventional plug, and sans bulb. These may not be what you were hoping for, but they are solid compact units with desirable focusing ability. Handy hairlight, skimmers, highlighters that go a long way with modern video cameras. Say $15 for a barebones unit, $75 for the one thats kitted out, and a nice package deal if you want the whole kit (I'll have to itemize what I have). I can take pics of them too if you want.

I have a 3-light kit made of teeny-weeny moles/barndoors/stands that has seen a couple of decades and shows it cosmetically. Everything is functional, there are some extras (an on-camera light plus some other stuff), and it's in a hard case with wheels. These are perhaps 500w open faces, comparable to Lowel Omni (but much sturdier). They do have a spot/flood focus control.
I paid $800 plus shipping about 4 years ago... but perhaps overpaid and would let it go for much less. What is your budget? If this sounds like something you're interested in please PM me and I'll send some pictures and do a real inventory of what's in it (haven't opened the case this year!) One thing that I liked about this kit is that it's fairly lightweight - you could check it on an airline with a couple stingers stuffed in and not pay overbaggage charges. |

1. Sony VX2100, that was used only for backup purposes and 3rd camera. I would rate the body as an A (minor scrape of two, and the operation ability of the camera as A+. I have personally cleaned the heads myself, by hand, and never had a dropped frame. 2. Power 2000 (2) long life batteries. These are identical to the Sony NP970 batteries. 3. Impact battery charger 4. Vanguard hard case with pick and pluck foam. 5. Remote Commander control (not pictured) ADDED 6. DC power cable (not pictured) ADDED 7. VX2100 instruction manual ADDED Again this camera is in immaculate condition with no problems, as I'm extremely anal about all of my equiptment. I also have some additional accessories (adapters and such) I might be able to dig up to throw in. |

Sachtler Video 14 II in new condition
This tripod system in EXCELLENT condition. Just come back from Sachtler USA. They totally refurbished to new condition. Brand new counterbalance springs, four steps drug for panning and tilting are working just like new. Rebuilt for 100% working condition.
Including: Video 14 II head, pan arm (1), quick release adapter, one stage aluminum tripod and a almost new floor spreader and "rubber lockers". Only few scratches on the legs, nowhere else. (Except on the sliding plate and leveling ball, which is normal) Working great with smaller digital camcorder and much heavier full size camcorder up to 33lbs. Four steps drug system for tilting and panning, including 0 (neutral) All locks work perfect, sliding plate moving buttery smooth. Brand new safety lock on head. Technician changed even few adjuster too for brand new (red buttons) Again, this tripod in very good condition, working like brand new. Asking $1400 including Fedex shipping. info@star-litevideo.com 519-999-7171 Regards: Laszlo |
