You may also want to look at the Canon HV10 which is really small and is better in low light. Most reviews put it and the HC3 at about parity, depends on whether really small is a priority or not. I think the HV20 is out also, but costs a bit more as is the HC7 as an upgrade to the HC3.
Both the HC3 and the DV10 are a bit "long in tooth" at this point, understanding cameras are "fashion". If you're looking for utility, you can use this to your advantage and get a good deal on either the HC3 or DV10 since they are now about 12 months old and the newer cameras have found their way to the stores' shelves. |

Thanks for the advice Roger - i've looked @ the HV10 and truth be told, the form factor is what deters me. That and as i said, i've got an FX1 so i figure i should probably be able to use the HC3 as a capture deck as well as vacation type camera.
Plus my budget manager aka 'THE WIFE' has approved the funds allocated for the camera and the HC3/5 would fall under this budget, but not the HV20 i'm afraid :|

FS: Sony PVM-5041Q monitor
I have a Mint Condition Sony PVM-5041Q field monitor for sale.
It comes with a PortBrace field case for it and is in mint condition and has hardly been used. It works perfectly. It handles PAL, NTSC and has inputs for composite and component as well external sync. It handles both 4:3 and 16:9 images. It also has underscan, blue only and H/V delay settings. I paid $over $1000 for the monitor and case. I am asking $450 or best offer. We can discuss shipping options. I will take Paypal. Thanks, Dan Weber |

FS: On the fritz Sony VX1000 with underwater housing.
By on the fritz, I mean for the last few months it will (sometimes) not power on. I then have to turn it upside down and shake it (sound of loose screw) and then it comes on again. I shot a wedding with this last month and I have to say I didn't look that professional but it worked. I bought this used from Promax last year with underwater housing for around $2100. It is the japanese gray market version. I would take 1250 plus shipping for the combo.

I took a close look at the 3X today and it is in excellent condition with
the exception of where I marked the housing with my initals, {JCM} I'll get some pics up on a website soon.

Here's some photos of the mattebox package.
Not pictured are the ring adapters that I am also including which allow this to be used on a 58mm dia. lens (ie. GL2, VX2100, etc). Hart, in answer to your question, yes, this will work perfectly on an XL-H1, as it's basically the same camera (dimension-wise) as an XL2. http://www.omegastudios.net/temp/cavision01.jpg http://www.omegastudios.net/temp/cavision02.jpg http://www.omegastudios.net/temp/cavision03.jpg http://www.omegastudios.net/temp/cavision04.jpg http://www.omegastudios.net/temp/cavision05.jpg Please excuse any apparent mess in the above photos as we were moving things around this weekend. -Ken |

FS: Bogen 501 Video Head with 2nd Pan Handle
Greetings! I am selling my Bogen 501 Video Head with a second pan handle. I upgraded to a 503, so I've decided I don't need both. I've had it for a few years and kept it in great shape. It can handle a stock Canon XL series camera and anything lighter fairly well, but I don't recommend a loaded cam or a broadcast sized cam as it does not have counterbalance springs. The second handle is nice to have for studio work and the head is very smooth.
All in all, it's a great head and gets the job done. $125 and shipping is included. Thanks for looking! |
