Hard drive for JVC GY-HD100
I'm still using my JVC GY-HD100U. It's been a great camera so far.
I'm looking for a hard drive ( if they still work with this camera). Anyone have any info about it or options? Thank you. |

Re: Hard drive for JVC GY-HD100
I’ve never used it with an HD100, but I have a Convergent Designs Nanoflash external recorder with media. I made a battery plate for it to take the common Sony NP-F series batts.
It’s from the right era, when people were wanting to stop using tape in their HDV cameras, using the HDMI output to pull a better recording externally. That’s what you want to do, right? It also has flexibility that other recorders lack - it has SDI as well as HDMI in, and, both inputs have loop-thrus for external monitoring. The Nanoflash always worked great for me! Let me know if you’re interested.

Re: Hard drive for JVC GY-HD100
I still have two of those cameras with a firestore recorder and it's rather good. The Firewire socket is a bit loose now - but it is still a viable media solution and the cameras, even at their mid range HD spec, hold up well.
