Re: Wide angle for Sony Z150
Quite a few on eBay Paul. Buy it now for $80. Not bad value and looks pretty decent.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-VCL-HG...wAAOSwVtZZ6Po9 You will need two step rings to fit one on the Z150. A 62-77mm step up and a 77-72 step down works well. Mounting it with the two rings accommodates the flange protrusion on the back of the VCL-HG072. Chris Young CYV Productions Sydney |

Re: Wide angle for Sony Z150
Hi Chris,
That looks like a nice way to go if the two adapters do not move the glass too far from the lens. Chris have you tried this method and had good results? Last edited by Paul Cronin; November 2nd, 2017 at 03:18 PM. |

Re: Wide angle for Sony Z150
Thanks Chris,
I just went for it and will let you know how it works out. We use the Z150 as B-Cam and hopefully this will keep it sharp enough. Best to the DVinfo gang down under. |

Canon C300 & Canon 70 - 200mm Lens for Sale
$3995 CND Comes with top carry handle, battery charger, 2 Li-ion battery packs, Sennheiser Shotgun Microphone, (XLR connection) with wind muff and cold shoe mic holder. This is a very clean camera with no marks that has only 494 hours.
$2000 CND Canon EF 70-200 mm Ultra Sonic Lens. 1:2.8L II USM. (This is a new lens as it was only used twice to film owls at night. All my filming otherwise is with a 28-300 mm lens.) If camera and lens are sold together then it is $5500CND. Selling because I have upgraded to 4K. Shipping and insurance included in North America. Plus GST in Canada. Visit Canadian Wildlife Productions to see frame grabs taken with this camera in the photo gallery. Email leon@wildlifevideos.ca for pictures as I was unable to upload them here. Re: Wide angle for Sony Z150
Paul
Sorry missed your previous post.reply. There are not a lot of decent WA options out there for the 150. The VCL-HG072 was originally the WA option for the Sony HVR-Z1E, the HD Mini DV/HDV camera. Was about $750.00 from memory. A decent bit of glass. What surprised me was that it is slightly concave on the front and because of that it seemed better at handling light flares than I expected. It's a while since I used it on the 150. I felt the results re sharpness were more that satisfactory. The only small issue from memory was if you had the image stabilizer OFF and crashed zoomed... or zoomed as fast as the cam could could there was a very small momentary vignetting for a fraction of a second part way through the zoom. In reality it was never an issue when it came to post. Also from memory we used a setting in the menu called Wide Conversion for the optimum stabilization with a wide adapter. In fact that adapter stayed on the camera the whole time we used it in spite of it making the camera a bit heavier. The WA adapter making the wide end about 7.5mm in 1" terms or about 23mm if FF terms. A useful width. Yes, let us know how you go. Chris Young CYV Productions Sydney |

Re: Wide angle for Sony Z150
Thanks Chris,
I figured for the price, and two adapters from B&H it was worth the try. For me it would only be used in some tight spots. Will give it a go next week to see how it works, and will post my thoughts. Always appreciate input from people who have used the gear prior to purchase. |
