Re: Tascam DR-80 with Busman 6 ch mod
Hi Rodger
First, my apologies for the typo in the heading. It should read "Tascam DR-680..." Couldn't find a way to edit the title. This is a multi-channel recorder that allows you to record up to 8 channels (4 XLR mix/line inputs, 2 TRS mix/line inputs, S/PDIF input or record 6 channels and create a mix-down of the 6 channels onto tracks 7 and 8 while still having iso records on the 6 mic inputs. This is the info on the mod from Chris Johnson at Busman Audio: "This modification provides much better detail and natural sound than the stock unit. All of the njm4580 op amps are changed out for high speed, extremly low noise op amps. The input capacitors are changed out for better values that allow for great bass response with an open sound and smooth high end that has excellent detail. This modification lowers the noise floor in the high gain setting by over -8db. The modifications will work very well in a huge variety of applications including nature recording, film, and music." The stock unit made nice recordings and the mod gives it a lower noise floor and makes for more pleasant sounding recordings. Hope this helps. Reed

Just adding two more pics; thought I could amend the original post but it doesn't want to let me.

Sony Z1u - rock solid camera
I hate to do it, I love this camera and it has been flawless in it's performance, but I'm looking to sell my Sony Z1u. What an amazing camera it's been. If you're interested, just email me for the particulars and pictures. I can throw in batteries, tapes, the dual charger. Just make me a reasonable offer. I also still have a Sony V1u that I'm selling.

Re: GoPro Hero (Original / "White")
I'll throw in the tripod mount for $105.
Or I'd consider selling it cheaper w/o the skeleton & tripod mount. So feel free to make an offer.

Re: Got robbed need to buy used stuff
Sorry to hear. I too got robbed a few years ago. Bastards got away with over $2K of backup equipment. Insurance covered all but $500, so it stung a bit less.
My only advice is to avoid buying used batteries. You never know how much they were cycled, or what conditions they were stored. With used lenses, be sure to ask whether there are any scratches, dust (internal), fungus, mold, dented filter threads, discolored glass, oil on the blades, grinding aperture)....basically, it's a big risk unless you're buying from a reputable dealer. I've been mostly lucky (after asking all these questions, and demanding good photos), but I've also purchased the occasional dud. Learned new questions to ask with each purchase. Best of luck to you...and don't forget to invest in some cable locks for future gear cases. |

Sigma 20mm 1.8 Nikon mount
No longer use the lens now as I have the Sigma 18-35mm instead.
Body 8/10 It does have slight coating peel. When I had the Canon Mount version it did the same thing. Besides that no Body damage. Lens never dropped. Glass 9/10 There is a very small hairline scratch on the front glass. No other imperfection to the glass. Does not effect image quality at all. Both caps included plus a pinch cap. Hood is included but doesn't locks onto the lens. It's worn out. Asking $350 shipped |
