Watchdog's own tweaked XL1 kit for sale
Howdy from Texas,
With tax time approaching, and the reality that I'm not doing serious video production work anymore, the sad fact is that I must part ways with my beloved XL1 package. This is an original XL1 manufactured in March 1998. The camera body and 16x auto lens were hand-picked by Canon USA for my friend Michael Pappas. He used it very little before selling it to me in 1999. In May of 2000, it went to factory service and received lens updates and a brand new tape transport mechanism. Since that time I have done very little production work and there are perhaps 50 hours on the heads. Prior to selling, it has gone back to service one last time and has been professionally cleaned and checked. Haven't rolled any tape since getting it back two weeks ago. It's in nearly-new condition with low hours and has the tightest, smoothest auto lens I've ever used (and I've had my hands on quite a few). Service records are included. The price for the entire package is $2500 which includes about $800 worth of extras (hardshell case, XLR adapter, audio accessories and extra batts). Sorry, but I will not break up this kit. If certain conditions are met, I will split the cost of shipping evenly with the buyer. Due to shipping hassles, I must limit this to U.S. residents only, with payment by cashier's check. Package contents include: XL1 camcorder body manufactured in March 1998 (NTSC) 16x autofocus lens with caps, hood and bag Color viewfinder assembly and stereo mic CH-900 charger / power supply and DC coupler Three BP-930 standard batteries Three BP-945 high capacity batteries Wireless IR remote EVF chamois eyecup protector MA-100 shoulder support / XLR audio adapter Canon shoulder strap and stock SP100 shoulder pad LightWave Systems Equalizer, Mini-Mount, System Isolator Kinetics KC821XL1-01 Hardshell Airline Travel Case Canon "swag" pack with hat, mug, t-shirts, pens etc. XL1 owner's manual and Canon USA XL1 sales brochure 31 pages of documentation with service records, users guides, etc. For a detailed history, specifics of kit contents and numerous photos, please see this page. Thanks, |

FS: Fujinon SRD-52 & Fujinon CFH-1
I got a new tripod and these were connected to it. I have no use for them with my XL1s. I think they're for broadcasting, bu i don't know. I've checked the latest prices new, but i'll let you make an offer. They work great, normal wear... if i were B&H, i would give it a 7 or 8. If you're interested, let me know.

WTB Film Books
Apparently the last time I moved a large box of books went missing. Among these were many of my film books. I'm looking to replace some of them (but not all, many sucked). Also looking for some other books I always meant to buy.
Looking for: Matters Of Light And Depth Rebel Without A Crew Five 'C's of Cinamatography Painting With Light Film Directing Shot By Shot Guerilla Filmmaker What They Didn't Teach You In Film School Setting Up Your Shots Directing Actors I'd prefer to pay by Paypal. I'm going to hit Amazon in a week or so if I don't get any hits here. Knowing my luck, I'll probably find my box of lost books as soon as I replace them.

I have "What They Don't Teach You at Film School". I always have to put it down because it makes me just want to go out and make a movie, so i never read very far. The very top of the cover is slightly wrinkled... as if from water.
