Josh, you may want to check your sources saying that the GL1 and GL2 picture is identical, I do agree that the GL1 is a good solid camera for 1k, but the picture of the GL2 is much better then the GL1, if the picture was the same then it wouldn't make sense to make a GL2.
The GL2 contains 380,000 effective pixels per CCD vs. 250,000 pixels per CCD in the GL1, but I don't want to turn anyone away from buying your camrea, because it is a great camera. |

Ah, thanks. I didn't mean to mislead anyone! I was just going by what the Sony rep told me (I figured he'd know his stuff ;)... then again he does work for Sony and not Canon...).
He must have meant that the image sensor size is the same (1/4") but the sensor resolution is indeed different. The GL1 still takes a great picture, though. :) For a comparison, specs are here: GL1: http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/Canon_G...5.html?tag=dir GL2: http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/Canon_G...8.html?tag=tab As you can see, they are almost an identical camera. Very few changes were made between the GL1 and GL2. |
