I appreciate that very much, Mike. I'll let you know before night's end...assessing the options....

Video Equipment for HS video Program
I have the opportunity to start a video production program at the school where I teach. Problem is...very little money. If you have some old equipment that is gathering dust that you could make a great deal on for some aspiring young film makers, please message me.
I am looking for everything from lights to cams to mics to computers to software. We have very little. If you are inspired to donate anything, I can get you a donation letter for tax purposes. Thanks!!

Re: Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM
Hey Mike, I think I'm gonna pass on the lens. I appreciate the opportunity though.
Oddly enough, the Rokinon suggestion has thrown me into a loop and I don't feel any closer to a solution.

Re: Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM
Edward, the 50mm is almost a must have, I would buy it myself if it had a manual aperture ring, as my old 50mm FD mount doesn't have the coatings the newer lens has. Michael, sorry for butting in, I should've stayed out, thought I was being helpful.

Re: Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM
Hey guys. Jeff, don't worry about it, it wasn't your fault...I can be a little indecisive, especially when it comes to getting the most bang for my buck. I know the significance of the 50mm, I used to own the 1.8 Mk II and loved every second of it until I dropped and broke it on a shoot in Baltimore this past year. That's why I'm looking at the 1.8 Mk I--half the price of the 1.4 and still a great image.
I looked at the Rokinon 85mm. Sounds really good, my only issue is the lack of auto-focus. I use my lenses for photography as well, and I'll shoot a lot of fast-action at times, hence the need for the auto-focus. Otherwise, this seems to be a fantastic pick for video. Thanks for the head's up, Mike.
