You may be able to find a VX2000 for around $1500 or less, depending on its use. I've seen quite a few on sale ebay pretty cheap, just watch out for scams...
I sent you another email On another note, I found a JVC High Definition 1CCD, refurbished on B&H for $1,300. You have to hurry though, B&H used goes really fast http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...goryNavigation |

Is there any reason why this would be better than an iRiver at a quarter of the price?

The iriver has no automatic gain control (importnant for transients), no built in speaker. This is much better than an iriver for run and gun idea recording or for instances when the volume is going to vary greatly. Comes with an external mic with a clip that also has remote controls.

Century Optics .7X HD W/A converter for Sony HDV
Zoom thru W/A for Sony Z1 and FX1 HDV Camcorders. Made by Century Optics, the best highest quality adapters available, this is the wide angle converter made specifically for the Sony HDV camera, model OVS-O7CV-HDS.
It is zoom through. This lens is new. It's been attached to a camera once but has never been used on a job. I bought this and a Z1 camera for a project that never happened. The camera has been sold. This lens is made specifically to fit the Sony FX1 and Z1 HDV cameras. To buy this glass from a dealer is $795. This is new in the box. You can have it for $600! Save almost $200!! Your aspect ratio could be...that much wider! Add 30% more coverage to your camera. The best wide angle zoom through available at a price that cannot be beat! I accept Paypal (add 3%) or personal check. Free shipping (USA only). See it here: http://homepage.mac.com/getken/ebayimages/glass.jpg |

Only thing I'm concerned with selling now is the lens hood. It is in pretty good condition for a lens hood that scratches with something as simple as a fingernail. Maybe your old one is too scratched up and looking pretty ugly? Maybe you lost it, cut it up, who knows? I'm only charing $25 INCLUDING shipping. I'm pretty sure Sony sells them for something like $60 new.

Deniz,
Everything arrived in great condition. Question: is there a trick to making the Matteblox DV fit on my DVX100? It seems like there isn't anything for it to grab onto; I put the step-up ring on it, but it still just pops right off- am I doing something wrong?
