Manhattan
It works with batteries, I've used Tekkeon Battery Pack with it...but No Battery or Battery Mounts Included.

Just an FYI. I just got off the phone with Manhattan and if you want to use their battery plates for Sony/Canon/Panasonic battereis for power you will need to send the monitor in to them so they can mount the battery plate properly.
This is an older model and the current battery plates that Manhattan sells do not fit directly on the HD109A. Requires some internal mods. You can, however, use their Tekkeon batteries which mount via Velcro. -Ken |

The rig fly's nicely... it is definitely at the max weight limit. A ex1 would give me a little more latitude in the weight category. A hdslr would give even more latitude. Knowing what i know now, i think if your are going to be a steadicam operator you should get the biggest rig money can buy so you can use a wider variety of camera's. I personally never imagined flying anything heavier then an x3 until after I bought the pilot. This is an actual picture of my ex3 set up on a steadistand in the basement of dvinfo member Dave Gish. We used to practice flying the rigs together and record each other. The arm was fully loaded down with very little if any on the adjustment screw. Also the monitor and camera are powered by the v-lock battery http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/attachme...ion-ex3_1t.jpg Hope this helps Greg Last edited by Greg Chisholm; November 14th, 2010 at 08:15 AM. |

Greg,
Egg on face time. Sorry that I was crabby in the original posting regarding your non-reply. It turns out that your email was caught by my spam filter. I will take this all off-line now. Last edited by Nigel Barker; November 14th, 2010 at 07:42 AM. |

Manhattan + Tekkeon
This is what i've been using and have used it as a counterweight to my shoulder mount or my tripod rig, I personally dislike using Velcro to mounting accessories...I also have used the monitor with Jibs.
