Just writing to say, the camera and accessories are still for sale, and I'd still prefer to keep them as a package. But I wanted to mention that I'm leaving for Alaska at the beginning of July. The XL-1 is staying home if it doesn't go to a new owner before that. I'm not sure how Chris H. manages that. Do I remove the classified while I'm out of town? While I'll have intermittent access to the web and my email, I won't be able to ship anything. Just thought interested parties should know. Thanks.

Lisa,
No problem just leaving your listing up here while you're away. When do you expect to be back online here to respond to inquiries?

Hey Steve, would you happen to know if the warrantee is transferable from canon? I am seriously interested in your cam and would like to talk off line regarding details.

XL1 and accessories for sale
Hey people,
I'm thinking of selling my XL1 rig, as I'm moving to London, England for a job in a couple of weeks, and if it's not gone before then, well, I don't know what I'll do with it... ebay wastelands? Here's my rig: 1/ Canon XL1 (not XL1s) - NTSC body - 16x IS lens - 2 batteries - charger, cables, remote, microphone, blah blah blah 2/ MA-100 XLR adapter 3/ 14x manual lens 4/ Cavision 4x4 Bellows Matte box, rail system with handgrips 5/ Cavision .6 WA zoom-thru adaptor 72mm threading 6/ misc filters - 4x4 polarizer - 2 UV filters 72mm thread - circular polarizer 72mm thread - ND filter (the one from the 14x lens) 7/ Pelican case I'm thinking C$5900 for the lot, or US$4350 They've served their purpose on a movie I shot, but now moving to a PAL country, have no need for it. Ideally, I would love to trade the NTSC body for a PAL one, but that's a long shot. I'm not terribly interested in breaking this up, as I have no use for leftovers from a canabalized kit. It's of more value for me to keep it for myself than break it up. I'm open to reasonable offers, as I think most people here know what this stuff is costs/worth. I have receipts for all this stuff, and none of it is 'hot.' Any Vancouver people looking for an XL1 rig? /Adrian van der Park

Canon GL2, extras 4 sale...
Hi there,
I'm selling my Canon GL2 along with WD58H lens, Tiffen UV filter and BP-945 battery, in original boxes with all accessories. I used the GL2 to shoot a short, 3-minute film in February this year, which became an official selection of the Phoenix Film Festival. I've been extremely happy with the GL2, but being primarily a filmmaker, I'm looking to go 24P. The camera has had less than 10 tapes in it total; less than 20 hours use. I bought it in August 2002 and used it little until February when I shot the aforementioned film. Since then, it has been stored in the original box. (Software never opened.) The UV filter was placed on the lens for protection when I took it out of the box and has never been removed. The WD58H lens was bought in September 2002 and I still have original packaging for it. The battery was a Christmas gift last year. I have original receipts for the camera and lens. For photos of the camera and accessories, go to http://www.oasismedia.com/robustfilms/canon_gl2.html I prefer to sell everything in one package. Asking $2200 for all obo. Any questions or offers, please contact me at rob[at]oasismedia.com Thanks for looking and good luck! - Rob P.S. You can see the film I shot with the GL2 ("Alarmed") at http://www.oasismedia.com/robustfilms |

Brian,
I'm thinking about selling one. I bought one used off ebay a few months ago for $340. Maybe I overpaid a bit. I do weddings and wanted to see if it would be of use to me. It works fine before the wedding but at the reception with a light on the camera, the cam is too heavy to use it. I'll probably experiment with a different stabilizer. I'm gonna be in Toledo over the 4th to visit the folks if you wanted to consider coming down to check it out or buy. |

Jonas hasn't been back for 2 weeks now. This may be a dead deal.

Try e mailing him, or give him a call. I'd say he joined the board only to post the for sale.

Thanks Ken. I'll be able to answer questions intermittently while in Alaska, but I won't be back to ship the camera until mid August.

Adrian, which Pelican case is it?
Also, I've seen quite a few XL1's in the Buy And Sell. You should put it in there. XL1's (not s) alone usualy go for $3500-$4000cdn alone. $5900cdn sounds like a pretty reasonable price for a kit like that! PS, if you have a tripod for sale, let me know!
