In terms of the programs- absolutely the same. Academic versions are not eligable for upgrade.

Again, it's the same exact programs. In fact the only thing to differentiate it is the serial you plug in when you install it. There are serials for standard, academic, and volume. The installer and programs are exactly the same on all.
