Interesting portable light
http://www.batteryspace.com/index.as...OD&ProdID=2624
It is a HID 5600K light using 30W and puts out 1850 lumens. It is equivalent to 200W halogen, but for situations needing daylight color it would be more efficient since there would be no need for gels. I'm thinking this would make a nice accent/hair light for daytime interviews in a location where a reflector won't work. Think window as key light and this as accent? That same site has 12 and 13.2V NiMH battery fanny packs with charger for $130 which seems very affordable compared to other places. I think there is a new batch of 10AH NiMH D-cell batteries that are finally inexpensive. I have seen many places selling the 10AH D-cells for about $7 each. I think this may spell the end of lead-acid battery packs, finally. |
