				cheap matte box from india

If you search on ebay for "matte box" , you will find many items sold by a guy in india for very cheap. Strangely the same item is sold under many prices (from 90 to 150$), while being the same one, so you have to find the best priced offer. I ordered it and received yesterday (less than 1 week delivery from india to switzerland, very well packaged). Nice finish , with french flag. I take it with 3 adapters (52/58/72 mm). it can accept two 4x4 filters. Every important part is aluminium , except sunshade (plastic) I will test it today on my VX2000, HD1(jvc) and FX1. |

Tested with VX2000 and FX1, no problem. the nice thing is that the french flag is an add-onn the matte box , using a regular accessory socket (flash, lamp). So if you are ready to modifiy the sunshade of the FX1, by fixing such socket on it (probably just 2 little screw to add),you can buy just the french flag (i think 20$) and use it on the FX-1. |

				For Z1U?

Hello Giroud, I am considering purchasing this matte box for my Z1U. I do plan to use it with a Sony WA adapter. Are you happy with the build quality of the product? Best, Craig |

Craig, I use it on a Sony Z1 and a PMW EX1. Works fine on both. Vignettes at full wide with Century Optics 0.6X lens, but it will probably be fine with Sony 0.8X (although I haven't tried it) as when I adjust the Century to the same width as the Sony (about 25mm in 35mm equivalent) it is just OK.
