Suggestions for on-camera light

Hello everyone,

I'm enhancing my video kit step by step and a video light has been something I've long time wanted to buy, but I still don't have one yet. I'm very beginner on them and I don't need ultra-bright lighting, but something affordable and yet good. Firstly I'm wondering how are the lights usually powered? I would like to have it powered via the accessory shoe on the VX2100, but I don't know if it's the best idea. My price range would be around 100 USD or max 150.

Thanks!!
