4000K-ish Color from Osram Studioline 3200 in Arri fixtures
I am having this really weird problem in a small studio that I'm working in.
It has five Arri Studio Cool 2 and two Arri Studio Cool 4 fixtures, and in all of these are Osram Studioline 3200 fluorescents. The weird thing is that all of these lamps have a totally off color temperature of around 4000K, more like some cheap 0.99 cent lamp from the hardware store. You can clearly see that the color temp is totally off, even without switching on a halogen fresnel. Now I am wondering, how can not one, not two, but eighteen Osram Studioline 3200 tubes in Arri fixtures give off that totally weird color temperature? What seems to be the problem here? The color temp doesn't get better or worse when you dim those fixtures, however I think on 100% brightness they seem a little darker than what you'd expect (but I am not sure about that) I am afraid buying new tubes for all the lamps won't fix the problem. I am going to try and buy new ones anyways, but maybe someone has an idea as to where else could be the problem? |
