why are square filters more expensive than round?

Is it just that there is a greater amount of glass in the 3x3 and 4x4's?

It's funny because if you really think about it, you would think round filters cost much more to make.. but it could also have to do with supply and demand. I suspect more round filters are sold over square ones, so square ones cost more.
