Another "what the heck is that" thread...
Read an article in DVMag online and came across this picture of some interesting-looking lights that I haven't seen before.
Rock Star Visuals - It's the second image, the red-colored fixtures with what looks like ctb clamped on. They look old, that's for sure... anyone have an idea what we're looking at? Thanks! ~~Dave

Looks like an old Berkley Colortran scoop. Used a crazy looking screw in incandescent type bulb if I remember right.

Yes it's a berkley scoop, we used them in the news studios in the 80's to get rid of double (tripple) chins.
I still have my five berkley beam redheads and they were a british company but I don't think they exist anymore.

Me too and I am buying up any old tungsten kit I can as you can get it for peanuts as people jump on the fluro/led bandwagon.
