What are your asthetics of backlight in the Black Void?
I watched all interview clips of the dozen or so Documentary makers on the National Film Board of Canada site. Having done black void often myself, I studied it closely and found their black void lighting appealing and good looking but with variations as if different DPs were at work. There's the site: Capturing Reality: The Art of Documentary
Given there's only a few variations of three point lighting in that situation, I was wondering if there are asthetics one uses to decide how much backlight to use (a lot, a little, or none at all) and when. Ditto for fill light. Are there asthetics for use of fill and backlight in the black void? TIA |
