Chimera Video Pro Plus Softbox - Large - 54x72" (135x180cm)

Hello
I'm considering the Chimera Video Pro Plus Softbox - Large - 54x72" (135x180cm) , I wonder which speed ring would I need to attach to redhead light ?

A Redhead will not have sufficient output for a large Chimera. I use my open faced arri 1k with my Medium Chimera and it barely has enough output for most situations. I use my Mighty Mole (2K) with the medium and it can fill up a large, almost, perhaps in a dark room or set.

The other factor with a large Chimera is that few lights under a 2k or 4k have a strong enough yoke to hold up a softbox with that kind of weight so you end up mounting the speed ring and Chimera to a separate stand from the light, making the whole setup rather ungainly to move.

Laffan:

For a Redhead, you be best off with a Small Chimera. You need something with more power even for a Medium, much less a Large. Larges are most commonly seen with something like a Barger Bag Lite or a at least a 2K and up type of light.

Best,
