Best Strobe Light?!
Shooting a rockumentary -- need to get the *best* strobe light (perhaps 2) for a 20 by 20 stage of a guitarist playing in real time to be shot on the HVX with some overcranking here and there.
I am looking to rent, or buy perhaps, the best Strobe light that packs a punch -- perhaps 2 of them and trying to figure out what are the best ones out there if anyone knows....? I also got my hands on 2 Caluvet Swarm lights to highlight the band for another scene/same day shoot and am open to hearing thoughts about other cool lighting options/rigs (and cheap;) to achieve something striking, simple, yet stark a la Sigur Ros/Radiohead-sih live shows... Ideas anyone? Thanks so much in advance! JC |

TO be honest, The best strobe light for you buck is the American DJ Mega Flash DMX strobe light. It can be controlled with a dmx controller to adjust brightness and strobe rate. It is a blinding 800 watt strobe so it's plenty powerful.

This option is about twice that powerful, still runs off 110v and you can use a standard 1/4" audio patch cable to connect and sync multiple units.
Strobe Lights Make sure you post clear notices about high-power strobes in use, so that anyone with neurological disorders that might be triggered by strobes is properly fore-warned. Good luck with your search.
