Can you run a 1x1' Litepanel on a Sony EX3 battery?
Can I hook up a 1x1' Litepanel to one of my existing Sony EX3 batteries? I don't need to tap the one on the camera but rather use a spare battery. This would save me buying V-mount batteries and chargers. Thanks!
If not, could you run CL-LED600 600 LED Panel on the EX3 batteries? |

The Litepanel 1x1 are designed to run on 24 volts so the short answer is no.
Although in some of their specs they do say that they can run on a standard camera batt so it may be possible but it would probably ruin your batt fairly quickly. The LED600 is a 12volt unit that draws 48 watts. The EX3 draws less than 14 watts so the battery is probably not up to the current draw - if it does work you would get less than 30min run time from them. |

By "Standard Battery" they mean a V-mount or Anton Bauer battery with a typical voltage of 14.4 Volts. The Coollights LED-256 run on camcorder batteries from Panasonic, Sony or Canon. The LED 600 needs at least a V-mount or Anton Bauer.
