I bought 2 rolls of baking paper at Williams-Sonoma.com. No lie. It withstands the temperatures of film/video lights & diffuses like a poor man's spun.

Or you could buy a sheet of the real thing, such as:

Toughspun and similar diffusion material is not expensive by the sheet and is just as easy to order online as baking paper. It's also wider and stronger and comes in a range of qualities. |
