Petroff Matte Boxes

Hi,

Does anyone have any first hand experience with Petroff's matte boxes? More particularly their new line of product. Price wise they seem to be on par with Chrosziel's stuff. I'm looking to get one for a Panasonic DVX100. What I like about it is the ability to add a third filter stage since I'm feeling two filters might not be enough in certain circumstances...

Anyone?

Thanks

Call Cinequip White and ask. They have offices in Montreal, TO, Ottawa and Vancouver.

in TO talk to Scot Winter

You could always see if Cavision has their new 16x9 unit up and running. I had heard it would take an extra stage. They're Canadian, out of Vancouver. (Petroff is out of Missisauga, Ont)

Thanks.

I'm probably just gonna go check them out for myself. No one seems to have ever used them.

I've had a Petroff MB6 for ages - not one of the new ones. It's been a good box. One fixed holder and one rotating holder. Good sealing of the unused slot(s).

Best,
Helen

Thanks Helen!

It's been hard to find anyone with some sort of experience with it...I guess you wouldn't happen to know what Petroff has improved on their newer boxes do you? Glad to here you've been happy with it. Do you still use it? Are there certain things I should be looking for?

Petroff has only recently produced a line suitable for DV. They have long been a premium supplier to the film and professional video industry. i've seem their stuff at Cinequip White in Toronto.

The fit , finish and build is similar to Vocas. This is very well egineered , high quality stuff.
