Trouble setting up CoolLights softbox kit...
I just received the CL-SFT1 kit. I watched the setup video and after getting the first 2 rods in for the softbox it seems nearly physically impossible to get the remaining rods. In the video I can see there is quite a bit of bending. I have tried and the rod is starting to dig gouges into the little holes on the base as I try and bend the rod to get it to fit.
I must be missing some fundamental step. I feel like something might break given the force I am needing to exert to get the 3rd rod squared away. The main problem is that the receptacle holes are perpendicular to the base ring as opposed to being angled for the rods to come down into them at a slant. Any ideas? thanks, brian |

Ok, I got it. Had a problem with the 4th rod but finally realized that the 4th rod must be put on the corner with the velcrow. I have never claimed to be the most mechanically inclined person...

Brian... just read your post.... and I want you to know I had a similar experience. As a result of my efforts with this and other softboxes, I almost never take most any of my softboxes apart unless I absolutely have to.
I have a spare bedroom.... guess what take up the bed space 99% of the time? ASSEMBLED SOFTBOXES ! Chris ps. Glad you got it figured out. You will enjoy the softbox. It is a great value. pps. USE the egg crate. |
